System Enhancements

Open Settings in the Sliprail desktop app and select System Enhancements to configure window management, open window results in the launcher, and pointer location. Available options vary by platform. Sliprail Web does not provide these system-level features.

Window management

Manage windows with Sliprail is off by default. Enable it to snap the foreground window to half the screen or maximize it with keyboard shortcuts.

Cycle window positions controls what happens when you repeat the same directional shortcut and is on by default. After enabling window management, adjust this option to suit your workflow.

System Enhancements also includes platform-specific window shortcut switches.

  • On Windows, separately enable shortcuts to close or minimize the foreground window using the modifier selected for the launcher
  • On macOS, enable Command + M to hide the current app instead of minimizing its window

Show open app windows

Show open app windows is on by default. It includes currently open windows in launcher results so you can search for and switch to them. Turn it off to exclude these window results.

Shake mouse to locate pointer

This option is available only in the Windows desktop app and is off by default. Turn on Shake mouse to locate pointer in System Enhancements to enable it immediately, without restarting Sliprail or installing an extension.

  1. Keep Sliprail running and release all mouse buttons
  2. Quickly shake the mouse back and forth horizontally or vertically several times, without opening the launcher or holding a keyboard shortcut
  3. The pointer temporarily enlarges and follows your movement, making it easier to find on a large screen or across multiple monitors

When you stop shaking, the enlarged pointer automatically shrinks and fades away. Continuing to shake keeps the effect visible for longer.

  • Ordinary movement, a single sweep across the screen, or slight jitter will not trigger the effect
  • The effect is not shown while any mouse button is held or the current app hides the system pointer. It does not take focus away from the active window or block clicks
  • The feature does not magnify screen content or permanently change the pointer size. To keep the pointer larger all the time, adjust its size in Windows Settings instead

Turn off the same toggle to immediately stop detection and clear any active enlargement effect. Fully quitting Sliprail also stops the feature.
