Translate

Translate is a quick way to turn typed or pasted text, including text visible in images, into another language. You can use it from the Sliprail desktop launcher or open the same translation tool on the web.

Open Translate

From the desktop launcher

  1. Open the Sliprail launcher and search for Translate or translation.
  2. Enter the command, then type text in parameter mode or paste one or more images. The launcher shows the pending images and carries the text and images into the Translate window when you execute the command.
  3. If you open the Translate window directly, you can also type or paste text into Content to translate, or paste clipboard images there.

From the web

Open the Translate web tool. It has the same language selector, source input with image previews, streaming result, and controls as the desktop version.

Translate text or images

  1. Type or paste text into Content to translate, or paste images that contain text. You can paste multiple images and remove any image from the preview strip.
  2. Choose the language you want. English is selected the first time, and Sliprail remembers your latest choice on that device or browser.
  3. Select Translate or press Ctrl/Cmd + Enter. You can translate images without entering additional text.
  4. The result appears progressively in Translation result.
  5. Select Copy result to copy the available translation to the clipboard.

While translation is in progress, Translate changes to Stop so you can end the request. Clear stops the request and removes the source text, images, and result. If source text or images are present, choosing another preset language starts a new translation.

Target languages

Translate includes eight preset target languages:

  • English
  • Simplified Chinese
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • French
  • German
  • Spanish
  • Russian

For another target, select Custom language and type the language name you want to use. The custom field accepts free text. You do not need to choose a source language before translating.

Translate asks Sliprail AI to keep the original meaning, tone, formatting, Markdown, code blocks, line breaks, and punctuation, and to return only the translated text.

Before you use Translate

  • You need to sign in to Sliprail and have an active Sliprail Pro subscription.
  • The text and pasted images are sent to Sliprail's cloud AI service for translation, so Translate is not available offline.
  • Translate accepts common pasted images from the launcher or input area and translates readable text in them. It does not process PDFs, general documents, or content fetched from URLs.
  • Translate does not currently provide translation history. Copy any result you want to keep before you clear it or close the page or window.
  • If you stop a translation, the part that has already appeared remains available until you clear it or start another translation.
