Hotkey
Keyboard Shortcut to Open the Launcher
Sliprail uses a global keyboard shortcut to open the launcher from anywhere, so you can launch apps or run system commands without interrupting your current task.
Default Shortcuts
- Windows:
Win + Space
- macOS:
Option + Space
You can customize this shortcut in Sliprail Settings and choose a combination that fits your workflow.
Special Settings for macOS Users
Many macOS users prefer Command + Space. Before assigning it to Sliprail, free the key combination in System Settings so it no longer conflicts with Spotlight or input-source switching.
Resolve Spotlight Hotkey Conflict
- Open System Settings
- Select Keyboard
- Select Keyboard Shortcuts...
- Select Spotlight from the left sidebar
- Find the "Show Spotlight search" item
- Turn off the shortcut or assign a different key combination
Check Input Source Switching Hotkeys
- In the Keyboard Shortcuts window, select Input Sources
- Check whether any action uses
Command + Space
- If there is a conflict, turn off that shortcut or assign a different one
Verify Settings
After completing the above settings:
- Set the hotkey to
Command + Space in Sliprail
- Confirm that the shortcut opens Sliprail
Getting Started
Once you've set up the hotkey, you can:
- Press the shortcut to open the Sliprail launcher
- Type application names or shortcut keywords
- Press Enter to run the selected item
You can now use Sliprail from anywhere with a single keyboard shortcut.
