Translate

Translate is a quick way to turn text you type or paste into another language. You can use it from the Sliprail desktop launcher or open the same translation tool on the web.

Open Translate

From the desktop launcher

  1. Open the Sliprail launcher and search for Translate or translation.
  2. Open the command, then type or paste text into the Translate window.
  3. To translate text even faster, enter launcher parameter mode and add the text after the command. Sliprail opens the Translate window with that text already filled in and starts translating when a target language has been selected.

From the web

Open the Translate web tool. It has the same language selector, text input, streaming result, and controls as the desktop version.

Translate text

  1. Type or paste text into Text to translate.
  2. Choose the language you want. English is selected the first time, and Sliprail remembers your latest choice on that device or browser.
  3. Select Translate or press Ctrl/Cmd + Enter.
  4. The result appears progressively in Translation result.
  5. Select Copy result to copy the available translation to the clipboard.

While translation is in progress, Translate changes to Stop so you can end the request. Clear stops the request and empties both text areas. If the source text is not empty, choosing another preset language starts a new translation.

Target languages

Translate includes eight preset target languages:

  • English
  • Simplified Chinese
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • French
  • German
  • Spanish
  • Russian

For another target, select Custom language and type the language name you want to use. The custom field accepts free text. You do not need to choose a source language before translating.

Translate asks Sliprail AI to keep the original meaning, tone, formatting, Markdown, code blocks, line breaks, and punctuation, and to return only the translated text.

Before you use Translate

  • You need to sign in to Sliprail and have an active Sliprail Pro subscription.
  • The text you enter is sent to Sliprail's cloud AI service for translation, so Translate is not available offline.
  • Translate handles text only. It does not currently upload or translate files or images, perform OCR, or fetch text from a URL.
  • Translate does not currently provide translation history. Copy any result you want to keep before you clear it or close the page or window.
  • If you stop a translation, the part that has already appeared remains available until you clear it or start another translation.
