Window Management
Sliprail adds predictable keyboard shortcuts for arranging and controlling the foreground window on Windows and macOS.
How to Enable
Window management is disabled by default. Open Sliprail Settings and enable Manage windows with Sliprail.
Additional platform-specific switches are available:
- Windows - Close the foreground window with the selected modifier plus
Q
- Windows - Minimize the foreground window with the selected modifier plus
M
- macOS - Use
Command + M to hide the current app instead of minimizing its window
Windows Shortcuts
On Windows, window management uses the same modifier selected for the launcher hotkey. The default modifier is Win. If you change the launcher modifier to Alt or Ctrl, these shortcuts use that modifier too.
- Modifier + Left/Right Arrow - Snap the foreground window to the left or right half of the screen
- Modifier + Up Arrow - Maximize the foreground window
- Modifier + Q - Close the foreground window when the separate close-window switch is enabled
- Modifier + M - Minimize the foreground window when the separate minimize-window switch is enabled
macOS Shortcuts
The macOS window management shortcuts always use Command, independently of the launcher hotkey.
- Command + Left/Right Arrow - Snap the foreground window to the left or right half of the screen
- Command + Up Arrow - Maximize the foreground window
- Command + M - When the optional setting is enabled, hide the current app instead of minimizing its window
These shortcuts are global, so enable only the combinations that fit your workflow and do not conflict with other applications.
